A Nameless Muse

When the the sky darkens, the moon luminous and the stars bright, a muse creeps into my heart, telling me to bare my blade once more.

To raise my shield, continue the fight. When the city sleeps, Couples kiss good night, my heart, alone and wanting, continues the fight.

I learned to dance in the rain, to feel the pitter patter of water against my skin, 6 years alone, heart full of pain and longing, 4 in the emerald city I call home.

Will you find me here? Will you dance in the rain with me? Will you allow me to love freely? Will you leave me dancing to an Echo?

In some ways the question has been answered, The pain a response, the silence the closure, In other ways, I struggle against myself.

My desire to be heard, to be loved, in the way I love. Your arms once a safe space, now so far away.

This muse that visits, She doesn't have a name, A feeling in nature, A spirit of creation.
